We are excited this year to be collaborating once again with Girvan Academy on a number of projects, including an art exhibition in the school.
It will showcase some amazing art by produced by pupils in every year at the school. The standard of the art was incredible, last year, and it included an amazing tartan project, where a group of pupils competed at Dumfries house in a competition to make a kilt outfit, even making their own tartan!

There was everything from drawings, paintings and collages to screen printing and costumery.

We expect that it will be no different this year  – we’re really looking forward to seeing again the depth of talent that exists.

A few of the artists exhibiting at the main Art exhibition in the McKechnie institute will hang pieces in the school exhibition for the Friday afternoon. A display of around 70 of the pupils photographs, along with a selection of their artwork, will be shown at the McKechnie for the weekend of the festival and for four weeks afterwards.

Look out for the QR Code Trail too – A photographic tour of Girvan curated by pupils of Girvan Academy Creative Arts Department and see Girvan through their eyes, and that of their cameral lenses. Details to follow!
